Most of our development work is done on a time & materials (t&m) basis and is guaranteed to work in accordance with your written description of the assignment. Our rates are set based on the complexity and expected duration of the project. We do occasionaly work on a fixed price basis as well as forming equity partnerships with clients.

We specialize in tools to extend and enhance systems built using TradeStation and MetaStock as well as improving existing 'home-grown' mechanical trading systems. We have ported existing C++ algorithms to TradeStation and MetaStock (as an External DLL), improved the performance and robustness of mechanical systems built using Access/Excel and Visual Basic and created custom Win32 applications to handle all price streaming, trade engine logic, and order execution processing. If you select Karakhorum Ventures as your development resource, we'll work with you so that we can best understand the problems you wish solved and, if you have not already done so, create a requirements specification which details the work to be performed, a schedule and expected cost.

Karakhorum Ventures was founded by Brendan B. Boerner, a highly regarded software engineer and project manager formerly with Novell, Inc. and Pervasive Software, Inc. His career spanned software engineering, Project Management (he was the Project Manager for Pervasive.SQL 2000 which consisted of development sites in Austin, TX, Vancouver B.C. and Singapore) and Personnel Management. In addition to general competencies with Microsoft development tools (i.e. Visual C++, MFC, COM) Karakhorum is also skilled in TradeStation and MetaStock External DLL customization as well as interfacing with SDKs/APIs such as TrackData's myTrack and Spear, Leeds & Kellogg (SLK) Redi++.
